Indena and Kanebo bring their “Olives experience” into a book
Published researches on the benefits of many ingredients currently marketed for skin health and beauty are often lacking. However, the recently published book
“Nutritional Cosmetics: Beauty from
Within” fills in this gap by putting together in one place much of the current knowledge on the growing nutricosmetic field.
Chapter Nr. 12 of the book is entirely dedicated to the beneficial effects of olive fruit extract, one of the most investigated and successful ingredients thanks to its potent antioxidant activity. Indena and Kanebo Cosmetics proudly contributed to the important publication for the whole cosmetic sector, by investigating the role of olive fruit extract for skin health. Capitalizing on the extensive body of scientific evidences the two companies hold as developers of Opextan, Aldo Cristoni, Andrea Giori, Giada Maramaldi and Christian Artaria from Indena and Takeshi Ikemoto from Kanebo Cosmetics condensed into 10 captivating pages all the current knowledge. Starting from a fascinating history of the olive tree, the chapter offers insightful elements on its role in disease prevention and on its constituents, as well as on its extract activity when used both orally or topically.
As they draw their conclusions, Indena and Kanebo contributors describe Olive as “an interesting source of new dietary supplements to increase health in general and, specifically, to fight skin aging”.
